“Superb, from first e-mail to last goodbye”
I knew I had found a tour company I could trust from my first e-mail inquiry. Not many tour companies reply to e-mails so promptly, in such detail and in such a personable way as Ankit and Mahendra do at Trinetra tours. Before even leaving for India I was enjoying our e-mail correspondence and felt as though I had already made friends in India. Trinetra were very responsive to any question when planning our trip and gave many ideas and options. This was my wife's first visit to India and we had limited time so I wanted a trip that required the least hassle to organize and gave us a variety of places to see and activities to do. Having backpacked in India in my younger days, I knew how much time can be wasted trying to organize everything by yourself, the stress when things go wrong and how tiring the whole process can be.In this respect it is definitely worth spending the extra cost and let Trinetra plan everything based on what you want to do.Our trip went as smooth as clockwork. Even when I left train tickets in the car that had gone on to Jaipur with only an hour before the train was due to leave, the staff were quick to fix the problem and even boarded the train with us to make sure we were sitting in the right seat. Wow. What impressed me even more were the daily phone calls to me or the guide and driver checking on how the tour was going, whether we had seen everything as promised, and how our health was holding up. There was a day that due to the traffic jams ( which are a fascinating time to look at people and vehicles), we missed one monument. It didn't really concern us, but Trinetra apologized and made sure we got there another day. That is excellent service! We had very knowledgeable and passionate guides. At Fatehpur Sikri our guide, Sanjay, basically re-enacted the first meeting of the Emperor Shah Jahan with his third wife who later was buried in the Taj Mahal. Guides such as Sanjay really bring all the places to life, make you feel the history and notice the detail that would be missed if you visited monuments and forts by yourself. The caliber of the guides were very good. Trinetra obviously chooses carefully. We did visit some shops as part of the tour, some government run, that can be a wee bit pushy with trying to sell things. But at the end of the day, it's up to you whether you buy or not, and these places do have good demonstrations on how crafts, such as carpets, are made. Finally we were very satisfied with our driver, Depak. He was so attentive, answered all our questions even when he was driving in traffic that was coming from all angles, and of course was very professional. He always had bottles of cold water and refreshing face wipes when we came back to the car.It was also reassuring to know bags, money and passports were safe in the car, while we were out walking around. How nice that Depak was there to see us off at the airport, more a friend than a driver after 8 days.Thank you Trinetra once again for our memorable holiday. We look forward to planning our next trip to India with you.
