Amazing Indian adventure
This was our first time in India and we were a little apprehensive but Mehendra put us at ease from the first email. We had looked at UK based tour operators but felt they were expensive or with our budget we would have to go on a coach tour which we didn't want. We looked at 3 Indian based tour operators and Trinetra came out way ahead of the others. They even put us intouch with others who had travelled with them from Scotland so that we could ask questions and gain a perspective. I thought I was asking for the impossible with my itinerary but after a few tweaks it was all agreed. In 14 days we would go to 8 places, Delhi, Agra, Abhaneri, Jaipur, Neemrana, fly from Delhi to Amritsar, train to Haridwar then Rishikesh and back to Delhi! Rajender Negi our driver stayed with us for all areas but Amritsar when we had Jaz. Can speak highly enough of Raj who shared with us so much information about India and kept us safe and on time for connections. We varied the itinerary at times to ensure we saw everything we wanted to and squeezed in a few extra activities. Our guides were brilliant, Dav in Delhi, Sanjay in Agra, Karan in Jaipur, Balou in Neemrana, Mandeep in Amritsar and Annou in HaridwarRishikesh. Our hotels, Havali's and tented village were outstanding. The trip exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate in recommending Trinetra Tours. A wonderful country, people, culture, spirituality and warmth. We were there for Diwali which was an experience, its the festival of light a bit like our Christmas, lots of sweets, colourful outfits, etc. One piece of advice to break the ice always greet the people appropriately i.e nameste with hands together. This really changes the relationship as Indians are a bit wary of you initially. We are so grateful for all of our wonderful experiences that have touched us deeply. Dancing with the children, arti ceremony, Wagha border ceremony, Golden Temple, Taj Mahal at sunrise, India Gate, Lotus Temple, Amber Fort, Ashrams, camel ride, feeding elephants, monkeys jumping onto our balcony, expert driving from Raj on crazy roads, great 7 hour train ride, walking across the ganges to the foothills of the Himalayas, participating in puji blessing on ganges, drinking rum with our guide in their family silversmiths, masala chai, Thali for lunch, dosha...and on and on...
